To Seduce a Sinner [Elizabeth Hoyt]
I liked that both Jasper and Melisande had secrets, since it so often is only one of them having secrets. Only one of the secrets end up threatening one of their lives but still. I had expected Melisande to be a virgin, but since she'd been engaged before and was 'on the shelf' (I hate that phrase) I was a little ashamed that I assumed such after we find out otherwise.
Like I said in my review of To Taste Temptation, I was really glad that Jasper has a chance at a HEA instead of him fading into the background like so many former fiancée's in historical novels.
It seemed a little strange that Jasper was courting his wife after they married when he really should have done so before they married. I know marriage was often a business arrangement more than anything but he should have spent more time with her before they wed, or at least had a longer engagement. It worked out well this way, anyway, but he'd courted his second fiancée (who leaves him at the very start of this book) for several months before asking her to marry him and didn't even bother with Melisande. I hadn't realized it bothered me that much until that paragraph was being typed! I did find him courting Melisande after they married to be sweet, although it confused her some.
