Undead and Unfinished - MaryJanice Davidson

Okay. I hate to admit it, but I took notes while reading this book with a plan to write a review. The thought makes me laugh.

So, complaints first: Besty called the Devil's half-a-million dollar shoes beautiful for most of two paragraphs. I don't care how nice the Devil's shoes are, why the hell would anyone want to pay half-a-million dollars for shoes? Not that I really think she did buy them, but none the less.

Besty seems to dislike, read hate, Sinclair so often, so why does she put up with him. Sure they have to rule as king and queen for 5,000 years, but that doesn't mean that they have to put up with each other all the time. this is explained some, but it still annoys me.

Besty's obsession with shoes use to be amusing and only a little annoying, in this book, it's simply annoying. I'm the type of person that wear's shoes because my feet would get cold otherwise (or sun-burned, depending on the season). I don't understand her obsession with shoes or spending thousands of dollars on one pair of shoes. I think paying $60 is too much to pay for shoes. (I'm done ranting now about the shoes).

Besty's hate of Thanksgiving is understandable, at least from my point of view, but she didn't really have anything useful to explain why! If she had given up on how it oppresses women line and gone to how it affected the Native Americans, I could have forgiven her, but she just kept trying, even when Sinclair asked her about the mops, which she had no idea were they were. I'm all for feminism, but if you don't have support, give up. Reasonless arguments are pointless.

Now for the good things, I liked the time travel, although I don't normally. I find it strange, however that all the places they went were related to Besty in some way, I had at least expected some of them to be related to Laura, since she was the one doing the time travel. Oh well, can't win them all, I guess.

The end was good, but I wasn't expecting the Book of the Dead to show up. Kinda creepy, Sinclair has been reading a book made with his own skin and Besty has been calling herself crazy. It's almost sad that I find that amusing.
