Explosive Eighteen [Janet Evanovich]
I was really worried about this book after reading all the reviews for it. It wasn't as bad as I expected. There was some man drama, but really I'm over it. Even if she isn't. I understand why she can't choose between them, since she has a history with Morelli and well the other guy is Ranger, nothing else really needs to be said (you can tell who I'd want her to pick, right :)
I also understand why JE doesn't want to have Steph choose between them. No matter what way she goes, she's going to lose readers. Fans of Ranger aren't going to like it if she chooses Morelli and Morelli fans aren't going to be happy if she chooses Ranger. But she's losing readers anyway because of the whole slept with them both thing.
Okay, done with that for this review. I got a little off track. I even took notes for this book. kinda. Okay so only the last couple of chapters, but that means that I have some idea about what this review is about, aside from the man drama.
I wasn't expecting the swearing off men thing to last very long, but I did expect it to last a little longer than it did. She'd just told Morelli that she was swearing off men and they had sex. Really Steph? No self control. She saw Ranger twice after she told him and didn't break her no men rule. Did it have to be Morelli? I think it's the they have a history thing again.
I was kinda hoping Joyce was really dead, but that was too much to really expect. She is an idiot though. Really, ashes. It was funny though.
Steph kicking Raz's ass was really funny, but I wondering why she doesn't have that much luck when she's on a case? She seemed to have more luck in this book than most, aside from that one guy who kept stealing her car. It was funny the first time, but she should have expected it after that.
Sometimes Lula's drama is amusing, but there is a point when it's too much. I hate drama in real life. I know Lula's a drama queen but it can be too much drama, even for her. Honey pot? really. I want to know what was really in that potion, since I don't think it was pepto-bismol. Morelli's reaction at the end kinda worries me though, since I don't like him that much and he didn't know what it is.
And I take crappy notes :)
The ending was good overall, everything got wrapped up. And for once, Steph didn't blow up a car. SO she'll lose 4 in the next one
