Changeless [Gail Carriger]

Changeless - Gail Carriger

I've been reading these quickly. I finished this one at about 1 this morning. I'd planned on going straight to bed after reading it but the cliff hanger was too cruel. I'd expected Alexia to be pregnant, since I also saw the signs for what they were. I'd forgotten the little detail that werewolves are considered dead after turning. that could be a problem.

That seems to be one of the major issues in the next book, so that's all I'll discuss in this review.

I liked Madame (Genevieve) Lefoux, so I'm really glad that she didn't turn out to be the bad guy. I didn't care about the French maid one way or another, so I wasn't that sad to see that she was the bad guy. I, like Alexia, expected her to be a spy of some kind.

I figured out what was causing the humanization of the werewolves and vampires before Alexia did. I think it was the broken Ankh on the wrappings that gave it away for me. Alexia didn't know about the broken ankh being looked for by the vampires back home, so it's not her fault that it took her longer to figure it out. Lord Akeldama's (who I love, btw) hint was also very helpful.
