Bitter Blood [Rachel Caine]
I tend to have a love hate relationship with this series. There was a point, during one of the first books that I almost gave up on this series. I can't even remember which book it was or what Claire did that annoyed me so much, but it was a very close thing.
Don't misunderstand, I loved this book, but I really hate mind (or other) forms of control and this book had quite a few people under control. Drove me crazy, even though I knew (or at least suspected they were under control. Oliver could have really become that much of an ass, but he's been changing in the last several books and I almost liked him, so I was at first hoping it was mind control.
I'm also upset about how Claire and Shane ended. I don't think it's a forever kind of breakup and I really can't blame Claire for being upset with him (he thought she was cheating with Micheal!) but I'm annoyed that she's going to MIT in the next book and no one is going with her, so the drama won't be fixed during that book. Oh well.
