Jason by Laurell K. Hamilton [Review]

Jason (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter) - Laurell K. Hamilton

This one is mostly porn, but I expected that from the summary so it didn't surprise me and it didn't annoy me. I would have been really annoyed if I'd thought it was about Anita helping the police solve a case and it was all sex with no plot at all. This one does have some plot, but it's sex related plot.

This book is mostly about Jason, Anita and Nathaniel trying to explain to J.J. (Jason's girlfriend) why Jason likes rough sex.  They are also trying to get Anita more comfortable with having Jade as a lover, which J.J. tries to help with.  I think that's going to become a important plot point, since it doesn't really go the way they expect it to (I'm not going to give away why not, just that it doesn't).  This means that there is some lesbian sex in this book.  I'm not sure how much it really counts, since there are men involved as well.  I expected the girl-on-girl to be vague, glossed over in favor of the hetro sex but I'm glad that it wasn't.  I'm not sure everyone will be as comfortable with it as I was (I'm bisexual, after all and I'm sure that affects).

Anita learned some things, but I think J.J. did too.  I'm not sure J.J. is completely okay with Jason liking rough sex but I really thought her reaction was going to be really bad at one point.
