Kindred in Death [J.D. Robb]
Why are so many of Eve's cases sexual homicides? I've wondered that before, but this case really bothered her. Not that it wouldn't have even without her past, but this one hit her really hard. Not just a sexual homicide, but the victim was the daughter of a cop and very young. Yeah, she's sixteen but she's a "young" sixteen, as Eve puts it.
There isn't a "favorite" at the start of the investigation, which wasn't that surprising. There's a lot of possible suspects, since the motive is related to the father's, an Illegals Captain, cases. Too many suspects and too little time. Several stand out, but it takes a while for the team to figure out who. Then the issue is catching him, since he uses fake names and changes his appearance.
