Enslaved [Elisabeth Naughton]
Not a lot to say about this one. The end reminding me of the Disney cartoon Hercules. That seems like a random thing to compare a paranormal romance to, but Malea is the daughter of Zeus and can get on to Olympus if she does something the Gods like.
Gryphon starts off as a bit of an asshole, but he seems to change really fast. I know he's got his reasons and they are good ones, but don't promise something and then change your mind. He told Malea that he'd let her go once they got out of the Misos colony, I get why he realized he needed her to stay but she spends half her time at the start of the book terrified of him. He doesn't hurt her, but she's very aware that he could.
I don't see the soul mate "curse" as really being a curse. I know it was meant to be the kind of woman they wouldn't want, but aside from Casey and Theron we haven't really seen that. Casey's half human and that's what Theron doesn't like. The idea was interesting, but it makes no sense to me. Kind of ruins the whole idea of a soul mate.
