King, King, Goose? by Mandy M.Roth

King, King, Goose? - Mandy M. Roth

I'm not sure it's fair of me to even call this a book, since I just read the free promotional story and not any of the first chapters.  Oh well.

I'd forgotten how much I love Mandy M. Roth's books.  This short story is laugh out loud funny.  The king is a dragon shiftier, while his wife is a human from Earth.  King Najarni is trying to give his wife, Tara, a Christmas celebration but she's upset with him over the goose (I got a little confused at this point, I think because Najarni was confused).  She named the goose Roger, so I think that was her issue (don't name something that might become food!).

The Christmas celebration is the funny part. None of the shifters really know anything about Christmas, so the carols are lewd and make no sense.  But it's funny and Tara does say that it's the best Christmas ever, so Najarni did something right.

I liked this little story more than three stars, but I feel odd giving something so short any more stars than that.
