Vengeance in Death combines religion with Roarke's past. There were to many possible suspects for the reader to make a guess and even as I was reading it, I couldn't remember the ending. That's likely a good thing, since these books wouldn't be half as much fun to read if I remembered everything that happened in them.
This one also introduces Ian McNab, a very colorful EDD detective who is (kind of) standing in for Feeney, since Feeney is on vacation for most of the book. McNab calls Peabody She-body and claims she isn't is type.
Eve almost dying is getting kind of old. Can't she catch the bad guy/girl without almost getting killed, at least once? I know it only annoys me this much because I've read several of them this week so they are all fresh in my mind, but it would be nice at least once for the case to end without Eve almost getting killed
