I loved Ripley in this book! I liked Lulu a lot better in this one too, since the last book had Lulu being harsh to Nell, even when she didn't do anything. I wasn't expecting the drama from the last book to carry over into this one, but it makes me wonder if Evan wasn't acting as he did of his own free will. It doesn't really matter in the end, but I do wonder.
This book reminds me of Practical Magic in the end, with them casting out the spirit or whatever it was. I had a image of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman gathering a coven of women to cast out the spirit that was in Gillian's (Kidman) ex-boyfriend. Just the image that popped into my head at that point.
