Alison Wonderland [Helen Smith]

Alison Wonderland - Helen Smith

I got this book for free via Making Connections, so I could read and review it

I wasn't too sure about this book at first. I read it for the Making Connections group and the author sent me an email about it before she sent me the book, warning me that the book is more literary than mystery. I'd have to agree. The mystery is there, but it unfolds with little to no help from our heroine.

I both loved and hated this book. It took me a while to get into, meaning that if i hand't been reading to review, I would have given up on it. (Maybe not, since it's only 241 pages). There were times when it seemed like nothing was happening and others were too much was happening. It wasn't hard to read, just different from what I'm use to reading.

this whole book is one big misadventure, in some way. No one really goes looking for things to happen, they just kind of happen. The heroine didn't come close to dying, which is really different for me. A nice change from other books were the main char almost dies all the time.
